Rank Two Tensor Component

Access a component of a RankTwoTensor

Description

This is a Material model used to extract components of a rank-2 tensor in a Cartesian coordinate system. This can be used regardless of the coordinate system used by the model.

This Material model is set up by SolidMechanics/QuasiStatic automatically when stress components are requested in the generate_output parameter, but can also be set up directly by the user.

The RankTwoCartesianComponent takes as arguments the values of the index_i and the index_j for the single tensor component to save into an MaterialProperty. Eq. (1) shows the index values for each Rank-2 tensor component.

  • computeTrueWhen false, MOOSE will not call compute methods on this material. The user must call computeProperties() after retrieving the MaterialBase via MaterialBasePropertyInterface::getMaterialBase(). Non-computed MaterialBases are not sorted for dependencies.

    Default:True

    C++ Type:bool

    Controllable:No

    Description:When false, MOOSE will not call compute methods on this material. The user must call computeProperties() after retrieving the MaterialBase via MaterialBasePropertyInterface::getMaterialBase(). Non-computed MaterialBases are not sorted for dependencies.

  • constant_onNONEWhen ELEMENT, MOOSE will only call computeQpProperties() for the 0th quadrature point, and then copy that value to the other qps.When SUBDOMAIN, MOOSE will only call computeQpProperties() for the 0th quadrature point, and then copy that value to the other qps. Evaluations on element qps will be skipped
